Rugged embedded computing applications often require connection to 10GBase-T or 1G-Base-T external I/O. This necessitates media conversion from the Base-T signals to embedded backplane signaling such as 1GKX and 10GKR. LCR’s dual port converter module converts 10GBase-T ports to 10GKR and 1GBase-T ports to 1GKX for backplane slot to slot communication.

Chassis design features often impact internal placement and cooling needs for media converters and other chassis accessories. LCR’s dual port media converter offers 3 configurations that maximize flexibility to address specific cooling, mounting and space constraints in design variations in ATR, 19″ and custom chassis.

The two board stacked unit includes the PHY and the magnetics in a compact 1.42″ x 1.34″ footprint and 3 height variants dependent upon cooling and mounting requirements. This rugged and reliable workhorse operates in a -40C° to +85C° temperature range and meets MIL-STD shock and vibe requirements.
