Fares brings a wealth of MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) industry experience to Micralyne. Over a period of 17 years, she held several senior roles within Texas Instruments. Her most recent appointment was with TI DLP Division as General Manager for the DLP Cinema® and DLP HDTV business units. Under Fares’ leadership, the business revenue grew five-fold in five years and secured a 95 percent market share position against a formidable competitor. Customer satisfaction grew at the same time.

Testimony to her pioneering work is the worldwide adoption of DLP Cinema® technology as the dominant digital cinema technology, which enabled the growth of the new 3D movie genre, exemplified by James Cameron’s “Avatar”. Before her role in DLP, Fares started the ADSL Customer Premises Router business, achieving the top two market share positions for Texas Instruments in all major markets.

“Ms. Fares’ proficiency at bringing new technologies to the world is proven,” says Michael Welsh, Micralyne’s Chairman of the Board. “Fares’ successes are achieved through her leadership and customer focus, as well as her skill in strengthening relationships both internally and externally and aligning goals with key customers. Her proven track record in growing businesses is an asset to Micralyne. Ms. Fares’ experience, abilities, and leadership will benefit us and, more importantly, our customers.”

Fares’ appointment comes at a key time for Micralyne, which is a pioneer in MEMS technology, constantly facilitating radical improvements in miniaturizing electronic and mechanical devices in the global marketplace and reinforcing its ongoing track record of annual profitability. The company is poised to leverage its leadership position in the MEMS Manufacturing industry and to take advantage of the accelerating demand for miniaturized industrial components and sensors.

“Micralyne is on the cutting edge of the MEMS industry. We have built a strong reputation based on our exceptional engineering talent, rich manufacturing experience, and the ability to innovate cost-effectively,” says Fares. “I am excited about the opportunity to leverage these strengths to meet the MEMS market growth and to continue supporting our customers in meeting their end market requirements and growth potential.”
