The RX6224A is a 2U high chassis made of heavy duty, cold rolled steel with a lockable, drive protecting front door that protects the unit from dust and water. Front panel controls include on/off switch, system reset, two USB ports and LEDS to monitor power and hard drive. 8cm ball-bearing cooling fan delivers more than 40cfm of air in the unit to provide ample cooling for the RX6224A’s 23.3″ deep chassis.
The chassis has one 5.25″ exposed and one 3.5″ exposed drive bays plus two hidden 3.5″ bays for hard drives. There is an optional drive configuration of regular 5.25″ and slim 5.25″ and regular 3.5″ exposed drive bays and three 3.5″ hidden bays. Standard configuration includes a 52X standard size CD-ROM, a standard 1.44MB floppy drive and a 40GB IDE hard drive. Other configurations are available as well.
The standard ATX motherboard has an onboard video and 10/100BT Ethernet, along with standard I/Os that include 2 PS/2, 1 serial, 1 parallel, 2 USB 2.0, 1 RJ-45, 15-pin VGA and line in, speaker out and microphone jacks. The standard configuration includes Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz processor with low-profile fan and heat sink and 256MB RAM, but other CPU speeds and RAM configurations are available. Three PCI-32 expansion slots are available via use of a riser card and a 460W 110/220VAC ATX power supply is also standard. And option for 460W redundant power supply is also available, which provides more power consumption.
The RX6224A comes with a standard 19 inch rackmount mounting holes allow front mounting to any standard 19 inch rack, but it also can be purchased with optional system slides which allow rear mounting as well to racks from 20 to 26 inches in depth.
