SAN JOSE, Calif., May 10 — Symmetricom, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency products and services, today announced TimePictra(TM) 3.6.1, the latest version of Symmetricom’s state-of-the-art carrier class management platform for controlling multiple types of vendor synchronization network elements on a local and global scale. TimePictra 3.6.1 now provides support for TimeProvider 3.0, the new version of Symmetricom’s innovative network access synchronization system announced in March. TimePictra 3.6.1 also supports the enhanced SSU 2000, Symmetricom’s high performance Synchronization Supply Unit with a software interface that enables user configuration.

“The improvements to our synchronization network management system were all driven by key customer requirements,” commented Dilip Dhanda, product manager at Symmetricom. “Network management is a key step towards ensuring control and visibility of the entire network and the synchronization system must be capable of keeping pace with the growth and evolution of the network. With this latest version of TimePictra, the control and functionality of our network access synchronization system is fully maximized.”

TimePictra 3.6.1 provides support for TimeProvider 3.0 which includes NTP server/client with MD5 authentication, new RS-422 output signals supporting 1.544 and 2.048 MHz frequencies and an integrated IMC/TPIU card that saves valuable rack space. Time Pictra 3.6.1 also fits well with the SSU 2000 in supporting a wide variety of redundant and software configurable inputs and outputs. The SSU 2000 has extensive event detection, reporting and storage capabilities that permit monitoring of the system from external sites, such as remote Network Operating Centers.

Key benefits of TimePictra 3.6.1 include:

— Manages synchronization equipment from multiple vendors
