AMBLER, Pa. April 2008 – MEN Micro Inc., a world-renowned provider of embedded computing and I/O solutions for demanding industrial, mobile and harsh environment applications, has released a new catalog detailing the companys extensive range of embedded solutions. Newest to the catalog is the expanded FPGA-based Universal Submodule (USM) series now available in two additional mezzanine cards in XMC and conduction-cooled PMC (ccPMC) formats.
The 104-page catalog also covers MEN Micros line of 3U and 6U CompactPCI and VME boards and systems used throughout the industrial automation, robotics, instrumentation, control, medical and telecom industries.
Other technologies highlighted include the company’s wide array of ANSI-standardized M-Modules that enable the easy addition of any real-world I/O to a system as well as MEN Micros range of completely busless and standalone systems based on both Intel and PowerPC architectures. In addition to the 3U CPCI products, these true standalone systems include both system-on-module (SOM) Embedded System Modules (ESMs) and PCI-104 modules, which are complete computers on a single module that consist of application-independent hardware, a VHDL-programmed FPGA providing independent I/O and the BSP support package.
The catalog details the multitude of other embedded components and system configurations offered by MEN Micro. These include power supplies for 19” rack systems; SA-Adapters serial line drivers that provide the physical interface for legacy serial I/O, fieldbus interfaces and other small I/O functions; PCI mezzanine I/O boards in accordance with relevant PMC, XMC or PC-MIP standards; and supporting software and BSP packages.
Each section starts with a summary page of the technology behind each product series and goes on to provide relevant information and application data that enable users to quickly identify the proper product for a specific application.
Because customized boards and systems are often a requirement of embedded systems designers, MEN Micro also provides information in the catalog on its cost-effective custom solutions program to develop and produce boards and systems for specific applications as well as to develop and integrate IP cores into existing MEN Micro boards.
