PEABODY, MA–SKY Computers, Inc. is broadening its military, commercial and imaging market solutions with the transfer of Analogic Corporation’s test and measurement products. SKY, the leading supplier of standards-based, embedded high-performance computer systems, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Analogic. The test and measurement product line is a natural extension of the data acquisition and image processing solutions that SKY delivers to military and commercial customers.

The test and measurement product line develops and supplies high-speed automatic data acquisition digitizers and waveform generators offering high-level, graphical software for configuration and control, signal generation or analysis. The products have an extensive installed base in avionics, and military/defense markets for demanding signals intelligence and digital signal processing applications.

The test and measurement products interface with automated systems in the VXI format which is an extension to the VME standard and is similar to SKY’s VME-based SKYchannel product line. VXI is the generally accepted interface for many commercial and most military automatic test equipment (ATE) systems in use today.

“With a resurgent market for testing facilities, the high speed digitizers and arbitrary waveform generators moving into SKY’s product portfolio will enable us to offer a more robust family of products and better meet the needs of our customers,” said Don Barry, president of SKY Computers. “The combination of SKY’s engineering focus in digital design along with the analog capabilities of these test and measurement products will enable us to provide more complete systems to our customers and opens our marketplace to other application areas. I believe that this is a good example of the whole being better than the sum of its parts.”
