OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced that it has launched the industry’s first HyperMag format across their publications. HyperMags, delivered online, are designed to help readers gain information needed to do their jobs quickly. The new HyperMag format provides all relevant practical information including staff¬-written material from the OSM editorial team, contributed material from industry experts, and sponsored material from advertisers such as product showcase listings, display ads, and unique interactive features.

Content within a HyperMag has immediate impact with broad distribution, stays online indefinitely, and can link to content on both OSM websites and contributor or advertiser websites. Along with delivering related information for readers to expand what they see on the page, this staying power creates ample opportunities for advertisers to generate leads. Reader activity is closely tracked and reporting is available to advertisers.

“HyperMags are a compelling way to get content out to our growing reader audience, and for advertisers to engage with those readers in new and exciting ways,” said Christine Long, digital content manager, OpenSystems Media. “All of our readers are expecting fast, interactive delivery of information, and this is one of our new online products helping our clients reach them quickly, cost effectively, with tracking,” she added.

New interactive features in HyperMags include info panel “pops” which dynamically present information or advertising based on reader activity, such as enhancing a product showcase listing with an offer. Also new are keywords which tighten the relationship between editorial content and advertising. Additional advertising opportunities include dedicated advertiser pages containing content aggregated from across OSM websites, and full- and fractional-page display advertising. These features bring enhanced opportunities to capture readers and demonstrate a more complete message.
