New version provides first end-to-end software verification solution
San Bruno, CA, May 28, 2009 – LDRA, the leading provider of automated software verification, source code analysis, and test tools, has announced that v8.0 of the LDRA tool suite was selected by eg3.com as “Best of Show” at this year’s Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, CA. eg3.com selects three “Best of Show” new products at major industry conferences such as ESC. LDRA was awarded this accolade due to the features and technology benefits of v8.0.
“Managing requirements throughout the software development lifecycle gives customers a critical cost-cutting measure, which is absolutely essential during this economic downturn,” noted Jason McDonald, founder and president of eg3.com. “Reports indicate that up to 70% of project defects are attributed to deficiencies in requirements management and traceability.”
With the integration of requirements traceability, the LDRA tool suite becomes the first automated software test and verification product to fully support the entire software development lifecycle. In tandem with this support for requirements traceability, the LDRA tool suite assists developers in software standards checking, structural code coverage analysis, unit testing, and object-code verification. In version 8.0, these extensive analysis features have been combined with the next-generation graphical reporting and documentation facilities of TBvision® to enable companies to readily identify and remove software faults and ensure that their code both adheres to quality and certification standards and is free of security vulnerabilities.
“Presented as the first fully automated end-to-end solution for software verification support, version 8.0 of the LDRA tool suite enables companies to trace, verify, and test their code through all stages of software development,” observed Alix Paultre, editor in chief of ECNMAG.com. “By integrating requirements management, the LDRA tool suite becomes the tool for next-generation management and complete automation of requirements traceability and static and dynamic software test.”
“We selected the LDRA tool suite for our functional and system testing,” noted John Schneider, Neptec’s Director of Engineering. “We required a tool which was easy to use, had extensive and detailed documentation which could be easily tracked for audit purposes and, most importantly, was easy to use and configure through the graphical user interface. The tool suite has greatly assisted us with our functional and system testing and LDRA met and exceeded all of our requirements for the Laser Camera System on the Return to Flight program.”
“LDRA is delighted to win eg3’s Best of Show award for v8.0 of the LDRA tool suite,” noted Ian Hennell, Operations Director at LDRA. “We strive to develop a full suite of test products for our customers which assist throughout the software development lifecycle. These tools are great cost savers, enabling companies to reap the benefits of developing software which not only meets all of their technical requirements, but is also on time and within budget.”
