Matthews is responsible for information technology strategic planning; emerging technology; IT program management office (PMO) & portfolio management and enterprise architecture. She also serves as the liaison between Global Headquarters and the company’s business units to ensure enterprise-wide consistency for the IT enterprise architecture, strategy and technology roadmaps. In addition, Matthews is responsible for rationalizing and managing Raytheon’s IT portfolio and PMO.

Matthews brings extensive strategic IT and business experience to Raytheon. Most recently, she was the chief information officer and vice president of Information Technology at BHP Billiton Ltd., the world’s largest diversified natural resources company, with revenues in excess of $18 billion. Prior to BHP Billiton, she spent four years as CIO of PECO Energy, now known as Exelon Corporation, one of the largest regional utilities in the U.S. She also served as vice president of Strategic Business development with Europe Online, SA, formerly one of AOL’s European competitors. In addition, Matthews held prior roles at Prodigy Services Company and General Electric. At General Electric, she worked in the Federal Systems area on government proposal processes.

Matthews earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York at Albany, a Masters of Science in Library Science from Long Island University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Columbia University.
