FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., July 15, 2011 — OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced the addition of a new editorial director, Jerry Gipper, effective August 1, 2011. Gipper will be editorial director for VME and Critical Systems magazine and business development manager for related properties.
OpenSystems Media continuing expansion of their editorial team reinforces their commitment to become the leader in both print and online embedded publications.
“Jerry’s technology and marketing experience span VMEbus and various embedded motherboard technologies. His 30 years of experience will enhance OpenSystems’ editorial direction,” said Rosemary Kristoff, vice president of editorial, OpenSystems Media. “Additionally, Jerry’s well-established presence among industry leaders will help continue to keep OpenSystems’ readers current on today’s VME and embedded ideas and trends most important to their business.” Jerry will be the moderator the VME VPX Virtual Summit being held in September.
Jerry Gipper began his career in the embedded computing industry in 1981. He has held a variety of positions in systems engineering, sales, product marketing, business development, and strategic planning, much of it related to the VME industry. Jerry is the marketing director at VITA, a non-profit organization of vendors and users having a common market interest in real-time, modular embedded computing systems, including VME. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University.
