Optibase Ocaster IPTV Reflector |
Sunnyvale, California, June 13, 2011 – VITEC, a leading provider of advanced video solutions, today announced the release of the next generation Optibase Ocaster™ platform. The new release adds full military encryption and embedded MISB-compliant CoT and KLV support to the rich feature set of the high performance, multi-stream MPEG Reflector/Recaster.
Optibase Ocaster™ LAN-to-LAN reflection system efficiently bridges enterprise and military LANs by converting multiple multicast video traffic to unicast streams, and unicast streams back to multicast, for network-efficient transmission of IPTV content between sites. The new release adds full support for AES-128 and 256-bit encrypted video and embedded Cursor-on Target (CoT) and Key-Length-Value (KLV) synchronous and asynchronous metadata and additional forms of embedded information including closed captioning without affecting speed or performance.
Optibase Ocaster™ enables sharing of private sessions or secure content by duplicating a single video stream to multiple unicast/multicast destinations around the world. It uses industry standard MPEG protocols that support playback options on all MPEG-compliant devices. The Optibase Ocaster™ is fully interoperable with third-party MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 H.264 standard definition and high definition IPTV encoders, making it the optimal solution for real-time processing of any IP stream.
An advanced traffic shaping algorithm ensures quality of service (QoS) for reflected/recast video payloads on any network and maintains consistent bandwidth utilization. Up to 50 MPEG video services can be managed using the Ocaster’s secure centralized Web- based GUI, which also enables on-the-fly session set-up and tear-down.
“The use of Full Motion Video technologies across all military forces is growing exponentially. Optibase’s cutting-edge situational awareness solutions are designed for rapid deployment on mobile platforms and in static facilities,” said Eli Garten, Vice President of Optibase Product Management at VITEC. “By adding metadata and encryption support for our Ocaster FMV reflection system, our customers will now be able to effectively bridge between enterprise network nodes and regulate distribution of many more streams to remote recipients on-the-fly.”
