AVIONICS & DEFENCE ELECTRONICS EUROPE, Munich, March 16-17, 2011. ALT Software and Channel One International have announced the availability of an industrial-rated version (part # 100-CK3802E) of the powerful ATI Radeon™ E4690 embedded graphics processor from AMD. Manufacturers of military, aerospace, industrial and other high reliability systems can utilize this -40C to +105C operating temperature range screened GPU to add high performance graphics and video support to their embedded devices. The ATI Radeon E4690 has one of the best power to performance ratios in the industry. With the addition of 20-year supply contracts from Channel One and an industrial rating, this GPU presents itself as an ideal high performance graphics processor for avionics and other embedded systems. ALT Software provides OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL 1.3 and OpenGL SC DO-178B certifiable graphics drivers for the ATI Radeon E4690, with support for PowerPC and x86 processors and all popular real-time operating systems including Wind River VxWorks 653 and Green Hills INTEGRITY-178B as well as customer-proprietary RTOSes.
With almost four times the performance of AMD’s previous generation of embedded GPUs1, the ATI Radeon™ E4690 is arguably one of the most powerful graphics processors available today for embedded systems. State of the art features include dual HD video streaming, a 128-bit memory interface and 512MB on-chip GDDR3 memory. For the most demanding graphics requirements, multiple GPUs can be combined. Demonstrations of a variety of industry applications for the ATI Radeon E4690 will be on display at the Avionics and Defense Electronics Europe conference and trade show in Munich, March 16-17 in a variety of booths including Aitech, Esterel Technologies, Green Hills Software, Disti, ALT Software and Channel One.
