Emphase Compact SATA Modules – S3 Series

6/22/11 – South Burlington, VT: Emphase, a trusted producer of solid state storage for Industrial and Military embedded systems, is excited to launch a new line of S3 Series compact SATA modules -– CFast, SATA Flash Module, and mSATA. This line of high-impact solid state drives proves that big things can come in small packages by combining performance, dependability, and longevity with extremely low-power consumption and the most compact footprint.

When space is an issue, this team of SLC NAND solid state devices is the go-to solution. And now with increased transfer speeds of 120R/100W and capacities from 1GB-32GB (with a 64GB capacity in the pipeline), all needs are covered.

Weighing in at less than 10 grams and plugging directly into a boards SATA port, the SATA Flash Module S3 is available in a vertical or horizontal-orientation with optional pin-7 power. When data mobility or hot-swap functionality is a must, insert the quick and rugged CFast S3. And when working with a low-profile embedded system, integrate the mSATA S3 for high performance and capacity at less than 4 mm thick.

Since power disruptions account for the majority of field failures, all modules now integrate TransferSAFE technology to weather inconsistent power scenarios. This boosts up-time and significantly increases reliability.

Additionally, the SATA Module line has been engineered to operate off as little as 0.5 watts maximum. This is significant because compared to an SSD drawing an average of 3 watts, these compact SATA Modules will consume 1/6th the power!

All S3 Series SATA modules come with a tightly managed BOM and a 5-year warranty, with the option for conformal coating. When it comes to environmental performance, these SATA Modules are ready for long-term exposure.

Environmental Performance:

– Humidity: 10-95% (non-condensing)

– Operating Temp. Ranges: -40°C~80°C

– Shock: 1500 G/0.5ms

– Vibration: 20 G

– Altitude: 80,000 ft.
