Specializing in the sales and integration of rugged laptops, tablets and PDAs to government, military and mining industries, Tough Corp is ideally positioned to expand NextComputing’s market to new users who require performance and features beyond these types of mobile devices.
NextComputing’s Vigor series rugged portable computers are designed to run complex applications in challenging environments. Unlike laptops that offer portability but lack performance, or rack-mount servers that are not intended for transport, the Vigor family combines portability and performance for demanding users in the field. Applications such as geospatial analysis, UAV ground control, military simulation and training, mission planning, and 3D engineering are ideally suited for these hardened, capable systems.
The Vigor series features four base platforms, upon which customers can build a suite of field computing solutions for any tough computing application:
• Vigor EX: Man-portable rugged workstation and server offering up to 3 high-resolution 17-inch displays and a flexible, upgradeable architecture
• Vigor EX-B: The industry’s first and only battery-powered field server with integrated UPS delivering up to 4 hours continuous use
• Vigor Evo: High-performance rugged server, also offering up to 3 displays, and featuring flexible PCI Express and PCI-X expansion as well as massive internal storage capability
• Vigor Evo Plus: NextComputing’s most capable rugged workstation offering the greatest flexibility for storage and expansion configurations
All NextComputing Vigor series systems are built on high-performance Intel Xeon and Core i7 architecture and offer a wide range of options including the latest graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD, up to 17 hard drives, 96GB of memory, and multiple operating systems including Windows 2008 Server, Windows 7, Linux, and Solaris.
