* Quadros Systems introduced their VisualRTXC tool, which is a graphical system design front end for their RTOS. Using dataflow diagrams, designers can create code via templates and flowcharts. We’ll need a closer look at this one to find out what’s really under the hood, but it’s an attempt at graphical systems design we’ve been talking about.

* Coverity talked about “Boolean satisfiability” added to their Prevent SQS static code analysis tools, really focused on reducing false positives. They also alluded to new tools coming in 208 for defect detection and assert solvers.

* ANT talked about their implementation of a 2.4GHz wireless sensor network with a “laser focus” on low power, low cost applications. They’ve got some traction in sports and health applications and claim over 1 million nodes deployed. (Don’t miss our cover story on “Commissioning wireless sensor networks” in the Fall/Winter issue of Industrial Embedded Systems, out soon.)

* QNX hit on the open source model I blogged on when the news broke last week.

* Ampro is introducing their RuffSystem, an IP 65 sealed box for “extreme rugged” applications – I hope to have more on that later.

* Amphenol is showing off new sets of backplane connectors for IEEE 802.3ap high speed networking applications.
