A new high performance VME/VXS single board computer unveiled today by Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, offers a significant performance and functionality increase for both commercial and rugged applications. The MVME8100 features the Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor supported by up to 8GB high speed DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory and 8GB eMMC NAND Flash. The board also features 512KB of non volatile F-RAM, which is ideal for critical data storage, data logs, dynamic program updates, and dynamic security.
The Emerson Network Power MVME8100 is designed for a range of high end industrial control applications such as semiconductor processing equipment and photo lithography, as well as military applications such as C4ISR, including radar/sonar. Fully rugged variants are available for extreme environments with extended shock, vibration, temperature and conduction cooling. Extended temperature variants of the Emerson Network Power MVME8100 feature a best-in-class operating temperature range of minus 40 degrees up to plus 85 degrees Celsius. Rugged models are capable of operating with up to 10G of vibration (15 to 2000 Hz) and can withstand an 11 millisecond shock of up to 40G. Conformal coating is also available as an option.

The MVME8100 offers extensive I/O including PCIe and SRIO fabric connectivity and multiple USB, Serial and Ethernet ports. On board expansion includes an optional mounting kit for a 2.5 inch SATA drive and two PMC/XMC sites. Supported operating systems on the Emerson Network Power MVME8100 include Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY.
