CHELMSFORD, Mass.–TEK Microsystems, Inc. the leader in mission focused, commercial, reconfigurable processing and I/O solutions for intelligence and defense communities, announced it has received an initial order from a prime contractor for high-density digitizer modules for a next generation geolocation platform. The order is the first of a multi-year quick reaction capability procurement necessary to address an urgent warfighter need. Production systems are expected to begin shipment in the second quarter of fiscal year 2016.

“This order is further proof that the warfighters’ threat is constantly evolving, and the need for signal collection combined with reconfigurable processing continues to be required to adapt to the mission need”, stated Andrew Reddig, Chief Technology Officer. “We are proud to be chosen to support this mission and help bring a technological advantage for our warfighters.”

This represents the first order for Tekmicro’s QuiXilica-Ultra™ VME / VXS / VPX product line. QuiXilica-Ultra™ open architecture modules incorporate Xilinx’s Ultrascale™ FPGA processing technology with modular mixed signal capabilities. Tekmicro’s third generation of reconfigurable signal processing modules provide unparalleled high density, low latency digitization solutions for size, weight, and power constrained environments. The first versions of the Ultra-VME/VXS™ are designed to give customers unprecedented FPGA digital signal processing resources in the VITA/ANSI standardized VME/VXS form factor with minimal impact to the overall system, thus reducing program risk and time to field capabilities without the cost of a full system upgrade. Additionally, Tekmicro’s Ultra-VME/VXS/VPX™ line enables seamless system integration with QuiXtream™ software and firmware for 10 Gigabit Ethernet functionality simplifying network centric system deployment. The augmented system management functionality enables reliable and secure processing for mission critical applications. Commonality between the VME/VXS and VPX production lines allows for a smooth migration path with the incremental value that the OpenVPX™ ecosystem provides.

“Our agile engineering methodology allows us to respond quickly to the needs of the mission,” said Bill Ceccherini, Vice President of Engineering & Operations. “Leveraging the core components of the architecture and our partner network, we can provide capabilities across 6U and 3U embedded form factors to address specific EW, SIGINT, Radar, and security requirements in a timely and affordable manner.”

TEK Microsystems, Inc. is an industry leader in providing, commercial item, high performance FPGA based and mixed signal data and signal processing solutions and services for intelligence and defense embedded systems. Collaboration with our customers coupled with our agile engineering model allows us to focus on mission success.
