Waterloo, Ontario – Pixus Technologies, a supplier of backplane, chassis, and embedded component solutions, has announced a modular 4U chassis platform that is geared for various OpenVPX applications.
The Pixus VPX4V180 chassis family features a modular design and various options for adapting for multiple applications. The base chassis is well suited for 3-18 medium powered OpenVPX boards. The unit is very cost-effective and efficient for cooling up to 85W/slot average. For higher power applications, larger bottom-to-top cooling fans can be used as well as air baffles, etc. For front-to-rear cooling, a 5U chassis is available. The cost-effective VPX chassis can be utilized in rackmount Mil/Aero, Test & Measurement, Physics, and other markets.
The 4U OpenVPX chassis platform from Pixus includes EMC options with integrated components and supplemental gasketing. An integrated fan controller is a standard option as well as PSUs designed to VITA 62. Pixus has several standard 3U backplane options and a highly competitive customization capability. Rear I/O is standard in the VPX4V180.
