Reflex Photonics proudly announces that its LightABLE(tm) embedded parallel optic modules (40G SR4 and 120G SR12) have proven they can maintain 10 Gbps/channel live traffic with no errors, while submitted to a severe vibration regime. The small, lightweight LightABLE with its MicroClip(tm) connector exceeded all expectations, demonstrating superior operation performance in harsh operating environments.

The vibration tests were conducted following the GR-468-CORE Issue 2, referring to MIL-STD-883E, Method 2007.3. This vibration test utilizes sinusoidal waveforms from 20 Hz to 2000 Hz with a peak acceleration of 20 g for 16 minutes and is repeated in all 3 axes with five different units.

This represents a bit error rate (BER) better than 10-13 using a 10 Gbps traffic on each channel for the duration of the test with no error on any channel.

The LightABLE products are multilane embedded optical transmitters, receivers or transceivers operating at 10 Gbps per lane, qualified for harsh environment operation. These products offer small SWaP, operation over a large temperature range (-40 °C to 85 °C) and storage temperature from -57 °C to 125 °C. The LightABLE can be surface mounted or plugged on a board, and will support high temperature reflow process and operation with a link budget better than 13 dB.

The LightABLE products were designed to offer the utmost reliability and performance in the challenging operation conditions of Aerospace and Defense; with this latest test, this design goal is now fully met.

This milestone complements the recent successful environmental qualification tests and live fiber pull tests of the LightABLE products and demonstrates its robustness.
