Behlman’s VPXtra™1500CS3 COTS AC-to-DC front-end module is a rugged, highly reliable, conduction cooled, switch mode unit built for high-end industrial and military applications. The VPXtra™1500CS3 is a VITA 62, Open VPX compliant, 6U front-end module that accepts 85-265 VAC, 1-phase input, IAW MIL-STD-704, and delivers 1500W of 33 VDC power. Input current harmonics comply with MIL-STD-461 (CE101) and MIL-STD-1399. The VPXtra™1500CS3 front-end module has no minimum load requirement and has over voltage and short circuit protection as well as over current and thermal protection. This front-end module is designed to support the rigors of mission-critical airborne, shipboard, vehicle and mobile applications.

Now users can choose either the Behlman VPXtra™1500CS for applications powered by a 3-phase AC power source, or the new Behlman VPXtra™1500CS3 for applications powered by 1-phase AC power source.

The Behlman VPXtra™ Reconfiguration Program addresses the needs of system designers for non-standard features on VITA 62 compatible VPX power supplies, which can vary significantly from system to system. Variables can run from different power levels of standard voltages; mechanical configurations such as connectors, user-defined pins, and general interfaces; to EMI filtering and hold-up requirements; transient and lightning protection; and more.

Behlman now invites all system designers to request additional system-specific VPXtra™ reconfigurations, without the cost of full-custom development.
