This tag uses no battery. It uses a capacitor with a virtually unlimited life cycle coupled with a state-of-the- art, high-efficiency solar cell. It takes approximately two minutes to fully charge the capacitor on a sunny day or using direct light from a halogen or sodium lamp. In addition, its IP67 protection allows this ultra-high frequency RFID tag to withstand the harshest outdoor environments, as well as, shock, vibration, dust, water, oil, chemicals and other hazardous materials.

This light weight UHF Gen 2 RFID tag belongs to GAO’s family of General Asset Monitoring Tags. Other advanced and featured products in this line are Active RFID Asset Tag which provides various preset transmission intervals so as to enable diverse applications while offering the best battery life span in the market, 433 MHz Active Tag with Mounting Frame which is generally used for the tagging where mounting on a circular frame is required.
