ALISO VIEJO, Calif., May 17, 2007 — SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced the availability of a software development kit (SDK) for its SiliconDrive Secure product family. SiliconDrive Secure features a comprehensive suite of user-selectable security technologies that solve the critical need for robust storage security in embedded systems applications.
The new SDK is an easy to use software development platform that integrates with Windows and Linux operating systems to provide OEMs access to the advanced security technologies integrated into every SiliconDrive Secure product. The SDK includes functional prototype software and programming code to speed development time and provide seamless integration. The security options in SiliconDrive Secure are ideal for embedded systems applications requiring advanced levels of security such as data recorders, wearable and field computers, medical monitoring and diagnostic equipment, POS systems and voting machines.
“There is no other storage solution on the market today that can provide the robust security features available in our SiliconDrive Secure products,” said Gary Drossel, vice president of product planning at SiliconSystems. “Now with the SiliconDrive Secure SDK, embedded systems designers have a development platform to simplify and speed the integration of the critical security features they need to protect confidential data, prevent application data and software IP theft and to lower the total cost of storage ownership.”
The SDK features an Application Programming Interface (API) to facilitate the implementation of SiliconDrive Secure’s comprehensive suite of user-selectable security technologies. The SiliconSystems’ API provides OEMs a proven methodology to quickly evaluate and implement the optimal security features of the SiliconDrive Secure product in their host system thereby reducing development time and accelerating time-to-market. The SDK also offers OEMs the flexibility to integrate all or only certain user-selectable security features available in SiliconDrive Secure. In addition, security features can be enabled or disabled after the host system is installed in the field.
Further validating its unique advanced storage technology and ability to provide crucial storage security options for a wide range of embedded systems applications, the SiliconDrive Secure product family was recently named digital technology of the year by Electronic Design Magazine and has been singled out as a finalist for the 2007 AeA Innovative Storage Product of the Year award.
About SiliconDrive Secure
