AcqirisAcqiris—March 28, 20060

Richard Soden, product manager, commercial OEM and ATE systems for Acqiris, said, “As the data acquisition requirements of hard disk testing continues to increase, it’s important for Acqiris to provide the cost-effective products that will enable users to obtain the most accurate data in the shortest amount of time. Our membership and involvement in such a prominent organization will ensure that we are aware of the industry’s latest developments and users’ needs.”

Acqiris’ products, which easily integrate with standard PCs, help to reduce test times and enable more accurate measurement precision in head and media testers. The company’s PCI digitizers are capable of providing high sample rates of up to 2 GS/s and its family of 10-bit CompactPCI cards offers up to 8 GS/S, 1 Gpoint of memory with up to 3 GHz of analog bandwidth. Acqiris provides software support for Windows, Linux, VxWorks, and other real time operating systems (RTOS) as well as complete drivers and software examples for LabWindows/CVI and LabVIEW, C/C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic. The company also offers a software adaptor for MATLAB.

IDEMA corporate members are the companies that comprise the supply chain and customer chain of the $35 billion disk drive industry, including designers and manufacturers of disk drives, heads, media, substrates, process and test equipment, materials and other parts used in data storage devices. IDEMA consists of three operating subsidiaries in the USA, Japan and Asia Pacific, giving the organization a global orientation that benefits the entire disk drive industry.
