Protokraft today announced the availability of its EXCALIBUR series dual port (4xfiber) 10Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders with D38999 fiber optic external connector interfaces to improve the performance and reliability of high speed communication links in harsh environment applications. The external interface of the EXCALIBUR series dual port (4xfiber) 10Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders is a D38999/17-08 fiber optic connector with 4xM29504/4 multimode fiber optic contacts. The internal electrical interface of the EXCALIBUR series dual port 10Gigabit Ethernet optical transponder is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec® SMT connector assembly enabling interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit (5.0VDC) is supplied through the Samtec connector.

Protokraft introduced the EXCALIBUR series dual port (4xfiber) 10 Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders with D38999 fiber optic connector interfaces for military, aerospace, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components are designed for use in applications where small size, weight reduction and resistance to dirt, dust and other contaminants are highly valued. These units are particularly well suited to VPX / VITA 46.21 applications where the XAUI protocol is widely used as a backplane interface.

EXCALIBUR series dual port, panel mounted 10 Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders enable high speed communications in harsh environments.

*Civil and military vehicle networking

*10Gigabit Ethernet network switches, NIC’s and many other applications

*Data communication links up to 20Gbps in one connector
