FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., Nov. 20, 2006 —OpenSystems Publishing (OSP), LLC, today announced that it will rename VMEbus Systems magazine to VME and Critical Systems magazine. VMEbus Systems magazine pioneered coverage of the entire VME industry from its inception 25 years ago, and VME and Critical Systems magazine will likewise dedicate itself to the most extensive coverage of the rapidly evolving VME technologies.
“The name change reflects our focused editorial direction and provides VMEbus Systems readers around the world with advancements in the VME industry, including unparalleled coverage on mission and safety critical systems using this technology,” said Chris Ciufo, group editorial director, Military & Aerospace Group, OpenSystems Publishing. “The print and online publication will continue to include technical editorial, the latest developments in VME and will keep readers abreast of new specifications and updates. Our community news-focused www.vmenow.com website is now available as well and I look forward to reading your posted comments on this exciting news.”
“VME technology is increasingly being used in critical embedded systems of many types,” stated Ray Alderman, executive director, VITA. “Much of the specification work in the past few years has been to enhance the capability of VME-related technology to make it more fitting for these critical embedded systems. This name change reflects what we have been seeing in the market and what has become a key focus for VITA.”
OpenSystems will continue to be a highly visible proponent of VME technology through its various media including the recently announced VME.now E-site (www.vmenow.com) and its VME E-cast webinars, print magazine, Buyer’s Guide catalog, searchable online product guide, E-letter newsletters, product promotion E-lerts, product resource guides, and reader surveys. The new name change plus the new integrated website, vmenow.com, demonstrate OpenSystems Publishing’s dedication to the VME industry.
OpenSystems Publishing will publish its VME magazine under the new name starting with the 2006 December Buyer’s Guide.
