Billerica, MA, October 12, 2010 – CSP Inc. (NASDAQ: CSPI) MultiComputer Division, a leading supplier of rugged embedded computer clusters, today announced it is expanding its FastCluster product line with the addition of the 4000 SERIES Mobile Scalable Computing Platforms. The 4000 SERIES targets High Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) applications where NEBS compliance meets the most critical environmental requirements for defense and commercial mobile platforms.

The FastCluster 4000 SERIES ATCA Platforms integrate the established PICMG 3.1 Ethernet ATCA architecture, Intel® Xeon processors and the latest high performance 40Gb Quad Data Rate (QDR) InfiniBand scalable interconnect. Initial systems support up to twelve Intel® Xeon Processing Blades with 40Gb QDR InfiniBand Rear Transition Modules (RTM) and two 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Blades.

The scalable InfiniBand fabric supports a multi-chassis architecture to deliver the low power, low latency and high bandwidth required for deployed HPEC mobile platforms. These systems have the ability to scale processing, I/O and storage capacity supporting up to 1000’s of Intel® MultiCore nodes with Terabytes of memory, 100’s of AMC modules for real-time I/O and multiple high density 10Gb ATCA iSCSI edge storage blades.

“Combining InfiniBand clustering technologies with ATCA Ethernet carrier grade technologies on the same platform enables affordable, deployable and sustainable HPEC solutions” said Bernard Pelon, CSPI’s Director of Product Research.

The 4000 SERIES ATCA platform delivers more I/O and processing scalability than proprietary blade servers and has the rugged packaging as well as the Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) characteristics critical for deployment. Compliance with ATCA Standards provides support for long term product life cycle management and enables technology refresh without modification to the chassis, rack or power distribution.

4000 SERIES platforms are available 120 days ARO for small systems and scheduled delivery for large systems.
