Opening the Orlando division of ZTEC, Dr. Hunter will be responsible for taking ZTEC to the next level; introducing a world-class signal processing research institution that delivers instrumentation algorithms, architectures and product concepts for commercialization. Dr. Hunter will lead ZTEC in the development of a new product line with his background and expertise in the Radio Frequency industry. Dr. Hunter will also play a key role in the development and enhancement of modular oscilloscopes and function generators.

“We are very pleased that Matt has joined the ZTEC organization,” said Christopher Ziomek, President and CEO of ZTEC Instruments. “Matt brings a wealth of experience in modern instrumentation and signal processing, and will lead the development of our new product line in modular RF instrumentation. Under his leadership as CTO, ZTEC will be able to further advance the test and measurement industry with cutting edge technology. Also, the new Orlando division of ZTEC will allow us to work closely with the University of Central Florida (UCF) and industry in a key economic region of the country.”

Dr. Hunter brings technical expertise and industry credibility to the team via his continued patents, technical publications, presentations and continued involvement with the UCF. Prior to joining ZTEC, Dr. Hunter served as the Chief Research Scientist, as well as the Head of Research and University Relations for Astronics DME Corporation. Matthew holds his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Hunter has a current patent pending for “Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) having arbitrary factor interpolator and fixed frequency digital-to-analog converter sampling clock.” In his spare time, Dr. Hunter continues to mentor and lead graduate students at UCF in cutting edge funded research in signal processing and communications.

“I am excited to be a part of ZTEC because of their commitment to making the best product on the market, while using the latest technology to meet customer needs,” says Dr. Hunter. “Chris [Ziomek] has developed a lean, efficient organization with his team committed to excellence. The culture at ZTEC is second to none. I look forward to contributing to the success of the company through research and innovation in signal processing at the new Orlando facility.”
