Radstone Signs Agreement With RST Industrie Automation

RadstoneRadstone—October 6, 20060

Billerica, Massachusetts: September 25th 2006: In support of the company’s strategy to become the hardware partner of choice for military and aerospace systems development organizations worldwide, Radstone Embedded Computing today announced the signing of an agreement with RST Industrie Automation GmbH of Ottobrunn, Germany. The agreement will see RST leverage its expertise in the LynuxWorks environment and its Gamma COTS open architecture middleware to develop complete customer solutions based on Radstone hardware in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

“We’re delighted to sign this agreement with RST,” said Colin Davies, Business Development Manager for Radstone Embedded Computing. “RST has the knowledge and experience in developing COTS open architecture solutions that are increasingly required by defense organizations around the world, and have a proven track record in systems integration and the development of complex subsystems. Beyond that, RST is able to provide the local support that customers value highly. We’re looking forward to a long and mutually profitable relationship.”

“Radstone’s hardware has a reputation for performance, flexibility, reliability and ruggedness that is unsurpassed in the industry,” said Robert Schachner, Chief Executive Officer of RST Industrie Automation GmbH. “We see a real opportunity to combine Radstone’s hardware excellence with our own unique open architecture systems development expertise to develop leading edge solutions for our customers.”

RST’s open architecture middleware Gamma is designed to enable the maximum portability of applications – including those based on LynuxWorks’ LynxOS and LynxOS 178 (for the development of safety critical applications) as well as VxWorks and Windows – in a COTS environment, delivering hardware platform independence while assuring the continuity of application software. Characterized as a real time development environment, Gamma reduces development costs and time to market while simplifying long term support and technology insertion.

About RST Industrie Automation GmbH

With its principal office southeast of Munich, RST Industrie Automation GmbH has been engaged successfully in the development and implementation of systems for automation engineering for the last twelve years. In more than two hundred projects in textile, print, glass and medical industries as well as in automotive and aeronautics, the company has proved its reliability and high skill level. Special attention is paid to the implementation of real time systems for all platforms in the embedded industries.

The decisive advantage comes with its own product line “Gamma”: while ordinary service providers develop their projects with common development tools, RST can reduce the services to the respective core competences using Gamma. Thus a reduction of costs and effort of more than 50% can be achieved.
