SIMI VALLEY, CA – JULY 1, 2009 – Providing manufacturers of handheld and multimedia devices with an extensive range of board-to-board connectors to suit any application, Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st sec: Index #6806) offers an extensive line of flexible circuit connectors. Designated the FH Family, the connectors come in many different configurations with contact pitches ranging from 1mm to 0.3mm, and are designed specifically for FPC (flexible printed circuit) and FFC (flat flex cable) type connections. Hirose has incorporated innovative solutions for improving ease of assembly and greater performance. Certain models feature “side-retention” tabs, which increases FPC/FFC holding force and assures proper alignment within the connector.

“Our FH Series flexible circuit connectors are used extensively in board-to-board connections, and because of the wide variety of styles, configurations, contact positions and sizes available, we are able to meet virtually any customers’ application-specific needs, whether the end product is a notebook computer, printer, PDA, digital camera, medical or industrial device, or connecting an LCD to a printed circuit board,” said Tats Arai, president of Hirose Electric USA.

The FH Family of RoHS-compliant, flexible circuit connectors includes the following series:

• FH12 Series – ZIF connector; 0.5mm and 1mm pitch; top or bottom contact points; horizontal and vertical mounting; front flip lock actuator; FPC thickness 0.18 or 0.3mm; connector height 2, 2.4, 4.85mm (vertical); contact positions from 6-60;

• FH19C/19SC Series – ZIF connector; 0.5mm pitch; bottom contact point; horizontal mounting; front flip lock actuator; FPC thickness 0.2mm (FH19C), 0.3mm (FH19SC); connector height 0.9mm; contact positions from 4-50;

• FH34S Series – ZIF connector; 0.5mm pitch; top contact point; horizontal mounting; back flip lock actuator; FPC thickness 0.3mm; connector height 1mm; contact positions from 4-34;

• FH35 Series – ZIF connector; 0.3mm top contact point; horizontal mounting; back flip lock actuator; FPC thickness 0.2 mm; connector height 0.9mm, contact positions: 19, 25, 33, 35, 45 and 51.
