RTI Brings Ultra-High-Speed Data Transactions to Oracle Complex Event Processing

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – June 7, 2011 – Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Global Leader in DDS, today announced the integration of RTI Data Distribution Service messaging software with Oracle® Complex Event Processing (CEP). The resulting combination means that Oracle’s powerful event-processing system can process data flowing from high-performance Data Distribution Service (DDS) applications.

The integration of Oracle Complex Event Processing and RTI Data Distribution Service brings data from mission-critical applications using RTI’s superior real-time messaging capabilities into Oracle’s powerful event-processing engine and display. Oracle Complex Event Processing, a Java–based solution for the development and deployment of high-performance event-driven applications, detects patterns in the flow of events and message payloads, often based on filtering, correlation and aggregation across event sources. RTI Data Distribution Service provides a publish-subscribe messaging system capable of processing millions of messages and data updates per second with latencies of less than a millisecond. The combination of the two products brings event processing into the fold of data exchanged in real time through RTI messaging software and a rich interface for interpreting and reacting to events in the system.

“The timeliness and quality of data make or break the ability of CEP engines to infer complex events accurately,” said David Barnett, vice president of products and markets at RTI. “The high-performance, low-latency nature of DDS ensures that the correct data will be delivered in real time, improving the results of the CEP engine’s analysis.”

About Oracle Complex Event Processing

Today’s IT environments generate continuous streams of data for everything from monitoring financial markets and network performance, to business process execution and tracking RFID tagged assets. Oracle Complex Event Processing provides a rich, declarative environment for developing event processing applications to improve the effectiveness of your business operations. Oracle Complex Event Processing can process multiple event streams to detect patterns and trends at real time and provide enterprises the necessary visibility via Oracle Business Activity Monitoring (Oracle BAM) to capitalize on emerging opportunities or mitigate developing risks.

About RTI Data Distribution Service (DDS)

RTI Data Distribution Service is the world’s most widely used implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) DDS specification. DDS is the leading messaging standard for integrating distributed real-time applications and systems-of-systems. By bringing the benefits of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to demanding mission-critical systems, DDS dramatically reduces the time and cost required for development, integration, testing, maintenance and upgrades.

About RTI

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) delivers fast and scalable messaging software. It serves as the foundation for a range of mission-critical applications from military systems to stock trading to medical imaging. RTI is the world’s leading provider of messaging middleware compliant with the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS standard. With over 70 percent market share, RTI Data Distribution Service dramatically improves system performance while slashing costs.
