Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency technologies that accelerate the deployment and enable the management of next generation networks, announced Paul Chermak has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Support. Chermak will report to Thomas Steipp, president and CEO.
Chermak is an innovative sales and marketing executive who brings experience in strategic accounts, and international markets for both hardware and software sales. Most recently, Chermak was SVP and GM of the High Technology Group at I2 Technologies, where he was heavily focused on upgrading the companys installed base of software customers. From 2003 through 2006, Chermak served as Managing Director, International for ITM Software, where he managed the development of international partnerships and customers in Asia, Canada and Europe. Previously, Chermak was VP Application Solutions Group at Silicon Graphics and held increasingly responsible sales and marketing positions at Hewlett-Packard between 1972 and 1999.

Chermak was COO of a privately held executive strategic consulting firm in Silicon Valley and has served on the board of multiple organizations, including Wise Media Technology, SGI Japan and Dunwoody Institute. Chermak holds a B.A. in Geo-Chemical Engineering from Gustavus Adolphus and an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
