The Galleon Rugged NAS offers up to 2TB of solid state storage in only 150x170x100 mm. The Ultra Small external dimension allows the Galleon Rugged NAS to be deployed in applications where NAS functionality has not previously been feasible. The Rugged NAS integrates high density solid state storage with the powerful Intel® Core™ i7 processor to provide database and network storage services with up to five 1000base-T Ethernet ports. For ultimate performance, or when EMI and/or long cable lengths are a concern, the unit can also be equipped with dual 10G optical Ethernet connections. Flexible expansion up to 10 TB of solid state storage (SSD) is available.

“The new series of Ultra Small Rugged NAS products offers unprecedented storage capacity and flexibility in a very small form factor, enabling rugged deployment of flexible high capacity storage” says Terje Melsom, CTO at Galleon Embedded Computing. “Optimized for Size, Weight and Power (SWaP), the unit is ideal for applications requiring cost effective solutions for centralized high density storage in harsh environments, such as vehicles and small manned or unmanned aerial vehicles.”

For increased data security, both disk encryption (AES) and RAID is supported. Removable storage media enables fast exchange of mission data and ultimate security in case the vehicle or aircraft must be abandoned or left unattended.

Setup and administration is very easy using the SSH secure WEB GUI. Most standard exported file systems such as SMB/CIFS, NFS, AFP, FTP, HTTP and RSYNC are supported.
