PISCATAWAY, N.J. – August 25, 2011 – As a part of Power Architecture® technology’s 20th anniversary celebration, Power.org, the organization that promotes and develops standards for Power Architecture® technology, in collaboration with LSI Corporation and Wind River, members of Power.org, will host a webinar focusing on the benefits of using PowerPC architecture in an ecosystem partnership environment. The webinar, scheduled for September 8 at 8:00 a.m. PDT, targets architects, software developers, engineering managers, marketers, academia and analysts, focusing on high performance applications. “This webinar underscores the benefits of the collaborative nature of standards organizations like Power.org while providing insights into advances solutions from LSI and Wind River,” said Fawzi Behmann, Director of Marketing, Power.org. “Detailed design insights shared during the event will enable attendees to better meet challening demands for virtualization and performance in a rapidly changing market.”

The webinar will address LSI’s PowerPC-enabled solutions and the unique technical and competitive advantages gained through their integration into high-performance embedded solutions. It will review the collaborative relationships between LSI and Wind River through Power.org using case studies that examine software, virtualization and programming challenges and solutions. It will conclude with an in-depth explanation of how the marriage of the LSI processor and Wind River software combines to offer unique and invaluable benefits to end-users.

About the Presenters:

Reza Etemadi is a system application engineer at LSI, where he is involved in CPU benchmarking and networking application performance analysis on PowerPC cores and acceleration engines in the Axxia Communication Processor. Prior to working at LSI, Mr. Etemadi held posts at companies such as Ciena, Catena Networks and Nortel. Mr. Etemadi received his PhD in System & Computer Engineering from Carleton University, Canada in 1996.

Felix Baum is a product line manager with Wind River and currently works with silicon and board vendors, where he manages hardware integration and core OS capabilities for the VxWorks portfolio of products. Prior to joining Wind River, he worked for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, designing flight software for various spacecraft and managing a launch campaign for the GRACE mission. Mr. Baum holds a Master’s in business administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Master’s in computer science from California State University, Northridge.
