Performance Technologies Promotes Engineering Executives John Peters and John Grana

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 13 — Performance Technologies (Nasdaq: PTIX), a leading developer of systems, platforms, components and software, today announced that effective immediately John J. Peters is promoted to senior vice president of platform engineering and chief technical officer, and John J. Grana is promoted to senior vice president of systems engineering.

Mr. Peters and Mr. Grana will continue to co-manage the engineering organization of Performance Technologies to develop products, platforms and systems to drive the company’s advanced managed platform strategy. Emphasis will be placed on common architectures, value-add software and building partnerships with customers. In his new role of senior vice president of platform engineering and CTO, Mr. Peters will lead the company’s architecture and technology direction and ensure consistent methodologies throughout the platform product line. Over the years, Mr. Peters has developed, and made contributions to several embedded standards which are used within the embedded computing industry today, including VME64 and PICMG 2.16. In his new role of senior vice president of systems engineering, Mr. Grana will lead development and engineering toward higher-valued platform and system solutions. Since joining the company, Mr. Grana has also been active in developing standards, and has played a significant role at Performance Technologies in the development and delivery of integrated platform and software systems.

Since joining Performance Technologies in 1986, Mr. Peters has served in several engineering capacities, including vice president of hardware engineering since 1994. Prior, he served as technical director of the hardware products business unit. Also joining in 1986, Mr. Grana has served as vice president of software engineering since 1994 and technical director of the workstation products business unit between 1986 and 1994, and general manager of the controller products group between 1995 and 2000.
