Virtium Introduces Industry’s First Enhanced 2GB DDR2 ECC-Registered SO-RDIMM

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, April 17, 2006 – Virtium Technology, innovator and manufacturer of high-density memory solutions for space-restricted applications, today announced a 2GB version of its DDR2 ECC-registered SO-RDIMM. The first industrial memory manufacturer to add error correction code (ECC) and registered functionality to DDR2 SO-DIMMs, this new memory standard is optimized for specific OEM applications requiring ECC capability.

Utilizing JEDEC standard 1.8V I/O (SSTL_18-Compatible), this 1.650” module height is perfect for space-constrained applications. Also supporting the current embedded computing platforms, such as AdvancedTCA, ATCA-AMC, CompactPCI, and VME, the 2GB DDR2 ECC-registered SO-RDIMM is available lead-free with speed ranges of PC2-3200, PC2-4200, or PC2-5300, and can support commercial and expanded temperature ranges.
