Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has launched this durable UHF RFID reader ideal for deployment in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications. This high performance reader module is used in conjunction with a local personal computer to provide command and control via its RS-232 serial interface. This RFID reader meets the harsh environment operating standards required for use in trucks and automobiles.

This durable indoor/outdoor UHF RFID reader, model 236012, is available for use in North and South America, EU, Korea and other Asia-PAC countries. It is compliant with EPC global Gen 2 ISO 186000-6C RFID protocol and features anti-collision, DRM, and advanced anti-jamming. The module offers three reverse-TNC antenna ports for monostatic 50 ohm antennas for best performance and provides a tag read distance of over 9 m with a read rate of up to 190 tags/second. It boasts separate read and write levels and allows for command adjustment from 5 dBm to 30 dBm. This indoor/outdoor RFID reader works reliably under a wide temperature range of -40 °C to 75 °C and is thermal shock resistant. In addition, its command-response protocol is protected by length field and 16 bit CRC.
