San Jose, California May 15th 2006: Alpha Data today announced that the successful ADM-XRC series of PCI Mezzanine Cards is being extended to include platforms based on the exciting new Xilinx® Virtex™-5 family of FPGAs.
Alpha Data will support all members of the Virtex-5 family with initial offerings based on the LX platform.
Alpha Data Technical Director Keith Baker said, “Alpha Data’s newest Virtex-5 products will offer our customers the high performance and flexibility they need as well as lower power consumption than previous generations. These products are ideal for prototyping, developing and embedding. Combined with the high-level support our engineering team offers to clients, application possibilities are tremendous.”
The first product to be released in fall 2006 is based on the LX110 and features 333MHz DDR-II memory and PCI-X 133MHz. Supported form factors include PCI Express, PCI/PCI-X, CompactPCI, PMC and XMC. Flexible I/O via front panel adapters provide support for applications including:
* Radar and Sonar Processing
* Software Defined Radio (SDR)
* Reconfigurable Computing
* Telecommunication Encryption/Compression
* Image Processing
* Electronic Intelligence (ELINT)
