Mainz, Germany and East Greenwich, RI, April 30, 2009 — SYSGO announced today a partner agreement with Vector Software. SYSGO is a leading supplier of software solutions for the world’s most demanding safety and security applications. Vector Software is a leading provider of software test tools for embedded systems. The partnership will allow DO-178B certifiable PikeOS developers to use leading software testing and code coverage from Vector Software as part of the certification process of their applications.
SYSGO is expanding quickly and sees an increasing demand for its innovative and certified solutions in numerous markets. For safety-critical customers, the use of a certifiable RTOS is essential but not sufficient. Certification of the complete system requires processes and tools of the highest quality. Vector Software has developed an expertise, and field-proven testing tools that perfectly complement the PikeOS development environment. The key component of the partnership will be the integration of the VectorCAST tools with the eclipse-based development environment CODEO provided within PikeOS.

PikeOS is an innovative product, providing an embedded systems platform where multiple virtual machines can run simultaneously in a secure environment. The safe and secure virtualization technology allows multiple operating system APIs to run concurrently on one machine, e.g. an ARINC-653 application together with Linux. The PikeOS microkernel architecture allows it to be used in cost sensitive, resource constrained devices as well as large, complex systems. The simplicity and compactness of the PikeOS design results in real-time performance that competes head-to-head with conventional proprietary RTOS solutions. PikeOS is certifiable to the DO-178B standard, and is also MILS compliant.
