Science has progressed by leaps and bounds and there are numerous things that were once considered to be unimaginable. There is also stuff that we think is unrealistic today but the progressive rate with which science is developing makes sure that things we dream today will be reality tomorrow. One such technique is Thermal imaging. This technique is unique and utilizes laser technology in order to identify faults or loop holes in machinery, watching during nights and is also helpful during wars in order to identify troops from the other side of the fence.

p>Machinery scans are the most important and positive use of this technology. Large industrial area which has several locations should be identified as to how frequent they should be scanned in order to identify faults. Companies invest heavily in such machines and therefore a regular scan after a planned period of time should be performed. The safety and security of machines is also required to ensure the safety of environment. If environment is safe then the people or workers working there are also safe. Companies have to host a large number of external auditors as well. This includes health safety and environmental auditors as well. The auditors are well equipped with knowledge and standards and they match the operations and operational environment. If there are discrepancies and irregularities then the auditor points out the same. The management is later required to respond to the queries raised by safety and health auditors. They need to respond in a way so it is satisfactory for the external auditors. Management needs also to devise a plan through which such concerns are addressed. Such audits are very useful for the company and it must take it positively.

During nights this technology can increase the visibility and is most useful during war times. The person which is far away and cannot be seen from naked eye can be traced by using this technology. The main purpose of the scanning is to locate that there is some movement from the other side of the fence. Any movement can be considered as crawling of army personnel.

The cost of getting the scanning can be high but the benefits it reaps are much more than the cost. Companies can perform the task of scanning their machines by themselves or this can be performed by hiring services of a third party. Both options have their pros and cons and must be evaluated before taking any decision. Third party service provider brings in expertise but might prove costly. on the other hand the internal service can be less costly but there might be some expertise that is missing. The management needs to devise a plan so that all machinery and equipments are scanned at least once a year. However, companies who follow good practices try their best to get their machineries scanned twice a year. The weaknesses that are surfaced after the scan should be taken seriously by the management and strict actions should be followed.
