Dulles, Virginia – Technology Advancement Group®, Inc. (TAG®), in cooperation with ITT Exelis®, announced today the successful completion of its highly-integrated Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) system, providing centimeter-level positioning accuracy, based solely on high-precision carrier-phase measurements from its embedded GPS receiver with fully-certified Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) technology. TAG is under contract to the Army Geospatial Center (AGC) of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide a Precise Positioning Service (PPS) GPS Survey System (PGSS) that meets the stringent operational requirements of deployed Army surveyors. A component of the PGSS is the GPS controller that integrates the embedded ITT Exelis SAASM GPS receiver, RTK algorithms, and an RTK radio into a small and compact package.

This highly-integrated core technology is already built for kinematic applications, for example, a relative moving baseline, and can be easily customized to fit a wide range of other military applications such as machine control, robotics, and unmanned vehicles, without the need for a commercial RTK GPS receiver. Thus the user can be assured of full military system performance during all operational phases. The single receiver architecture minimizes size, weight, power, and cost.

If required, the TAG solution could be quickly modified to provide a form, fit, and function replacement for existing commercial receivers, including electrical and data interfaces.

“We are proud that our solution enables AGC and other military customers to have access to centimeter-level accurate positioning while simultaneously enjoying the benefits of a fully-certified SAASM-based embedded GPS receiver,” said Jim McEwan, TAG’s CEO. “It will deliver full, uncompromising performance at all times without relying upon any commercial receiver technology.”

TAG is now accepting orders from authorized customers. Typical customization efforts can be delivered within 90-120 days.
