Avnet Embedded, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), joins Intel in an in-depth technical training session on the new Intel Xeon® E5 family of processors. This free, Web-based training covers the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600/2400 families including a platform overview and technical highlights of each. This training can be accessed by registering on the Avnet website.

“This technical training was created in conjunction with Intel to cover the features and benefits of the new Intel® Xeon E5 processors,” said Toni Quagliata, senior director, supplier business management, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “With more cores, faster execution and memory improvement, this comprehensive training session illustrates ways that Intel products and Avnet’s solutions-based value-add expertise work together to support any design requirement.”

The Intel® Xeon® E5 family of processors offers a 67 percent increase in performance over prior generations. This processor family is ideal for data center and intelligent workstation applications, where the combination of performance, power efficiency and reduced network latency are critical. Combining these processors with the value-added programs offered by Avnet Embedded (integration, supply-chain and logistics services) results in faster design and deployment.
