PALO ALTO, Calif., July 8, 2013 — VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Lynn Martin as vice president of U.S. Public Sector.
In this role, Lynn will lead the VMware public sector team, who help federal, state, local and education organizations solve complex challenges through the application of virtualization and cloud computing. Lynn’s organization includes experts in direct, inside and channel sales; business development; professional services; marketing and operations. She will be based in VMware Public Sector’s East Coast Briefing Center and Education Center of Excellence, in Reston, VA.
Lynn has extensive expertise in the Public Sector marketplace, and a deep understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of federal, state, local and education organizations, and she is committed to helping customers support their mission. She joined VMware in 2012 as vice president for Professional Services for Public Sector, where she was responsible for Professional Services sales and delivery as well as Cloud Management sales.
Lynn joined VMware from HP, where she most recently served as vice president and general manager of the Federal Civilian Agencies organization. Prior to HP, Lynn held sales and services leadership positions in the Public Sector divisions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq.
