Technobox, Inc. – leading designer and manufacturer of custom and off-the shelf, small form factor computing products for defense, communication, industrial, transportation and scientific applications – presents the 6567 Five PMC to CompactPCI (cPCI) Adapter; enabling designers to provide cPCI systems with a wide array of classic and unique functionality.

The 6567 is a 6U, 8HP form factor cPCI PMC carrier accommodating up to five unique PMC modules. Two PMCs are mounted on the base module (6332) and three on the expansion carrier utilizing a special design of mounting brackets ensuring better front panel rigidity than standard front panels. This solution provides a simple way to add a variety PMC mezzanine I/O building blocks in a cPCI system, with minimal impact on system slots.

A PLX 6150 PCI-to-PCI Bridge chip interfaces the CompactPCI backplane bus to a PCI local bus on the carrier. The PCI 6150 is a 32-bit PCI-to-PCI bridge operating at 66/33MHZ capable on both the primary and secondary side. The 6567 is PCI r2.3 complaint with 3.3V signaling and 5V input signal tolerance allowing the use of 3.3V, universal and 5V PMCs.

Additional features include: IPMI access provided over the cPCI bus, front panel indicator LEDs, a front panel connector with serial monitoring of system parameters, and JTAG access for programming and debug.

About Technobox

Technobox has been a leader in the design and manufacture of custom and off-the-shelf PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMCs) for over twenty years. Technobox PMC solutions are built around IEEE 1386-1 and include discrete solutions for Async Serial and Digital I/O, Storage Connectivity such as Serial ATA (SATA), Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), Compact Flash, CFast, and SSDs.

Going beyond discrete solutions, the FPGA-based Micro Mezzanine System (MMS) enables designers to create unique PMC solutions using modular elements. It is the next logical step in mezzanine development that affords exceptional latitude in board features and performance. And as the assortment of modular carriers — including XMC — and I/O modules expands, more options will be available to facilitate embedded system design/deployment and surmount frustrating impediments like I/O obsolescence, time and budget constraints, and other concerns that plague embedded system implementation and longevity.

Technobox also offers a growing line of solutions for XMC development/testing and deployment. Based on ANSI VITA 42.0 standards, these augment an already comprehensive assortment of Carriers, Adapters, and Extenders that can be used to facilitate the development, integration, and deployment of PMC solutions within varied end-user systems such as VME, Compact PCI (cPCI),PCI, or PCI Express (PCIe, PCI-e).
