HARRISBURG, Pa. – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, announces the launch of its new CeeLok FAS-X connector that combines rugged reliability with signal integrity to support current high-speed protocols and new, faster protocols on the horizon. The new connector features fast field termination and repair, requiring only standard contact insertion/removal and crimping tools.

The CeeLok FAS-X connector meets military and aerospace markets’ 10 GB/s requirements and other high-speed protocols such as IEEE 1394b I/O, Fibre channel networks and Modular D38999 for harsh environment applications. Designed for optimal signal integrity, the patented shielding arrangement virtually eliminates crosstalk and completely isolates each pair through the connector to provide improved impedance matching.

“The CeeLok FAS-X connector is designed to maintain highly matched 100-ohm impedance and superior signal integrity, providing a performance margin that enables effective signal delivery in rugged environments,” said Steve McIntire, product manager, Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine, TE Connectivity. “The backbone of its design is a standard D38999 shell and 22 AWG, M39029 contacts, which provide an extremely robust pedigree for this high-speed connector.”

CeeLok FAS-X connectors have an operating range of minus 60 Celsius to 200 Celsius, and are moisture and corrosion resistant for airborne and naval operations. They are also available in a size 25 shell with a variety of standard D38999 modules to accommodate various counts of size 22, 20 and 16 contacts.
