Rugged MEN Micro Box Computer Provides Dual Graphics Processing

December 21, 2011

LinkedHope™, an independent supplier of high performance embedded video, graphics and high end computing solutions, has announced a conduction cooled and rugged version of an XMC GPU board (XM61000) targeted at high performance embedded Image/Graphic processing and general purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) applications. XM61000 is based on the AMD Radeon™ E6760 embedded graphics processing unit (GPU) and provides a robust solution for rugged vehicle, ship and avionics applications that require high performance graphics and video processing. With 576 GFLOPs of peak single precision floating point performance and 480 individual processing units (shaders), XM61000 is particularly well suited for high definition displays, highly parallel computations and other GPGPU applications such as image analysis, radar, sonar, Command & Control and video surveillance.

XM61000 is a rugged XMC graphics/video processor with 1GB of on-board memory and supports the latest versions of the APIs such as OpenGL, OpenCL and DirectX. The product supports up to 6 video outputs through its front I/O connectors and PMC rear I/O connector, which could be a combination of DVI, VGA and DisplayPort (DP). Its built-in video decoder enables dual HD decoding of H.264, VC-1. MPEG4 and MPEG2 compressed video streams. XM61000 also natively supports the industry standard OpenCL™ programming language. The company offers a range of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products – graphics processors, input solutions, video compression and streaming boards, imaging cards and software libraries – for airborne, shipboard, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and ground based systems.

XM61000 is a conduction-cooled XMC card, with an Extended Temperature operating range between -40°C and +85°C, and is designed and manufactured to exceed IPC Class 3, and MIL-810 compatible military certifications. An air-cooled model is also available. XM61000 is specifically designed to maximize thermal performance in an XMC profile when used for processing-intensive GPGPU applications.

XM61000 is also fully compatible with VPX-REDI (ANSI/VITA 46.9) enclosures.

Windows and Linux support is provided with XM61000. LinkedHope™ can provide support for additional operating systems, including OpenGL ES 1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0 support for VxWorks and other RTOS systems. Please contact a LinkedHope™ sales representative for more information.
