TE Connectivity (TE) announced that its DEUTSCH DMC-MD single module connectors, accessories and modules received European Standard EN4165 certification, one of the most demanding avionics industry specifications and independent endorsements of the connectors’ quality and performance.

Originally invented in the 1980s, DEUTSCH DMC-MD single module connectors from TE have evolved into one of the most widely used connector styles for cabin applications – including in-flight entertainment and lighting systems – in commercial aerospace. DEUTSCH DMC-MD connectors provide a modular, versatile and reliable system. The connectors are available in both multi-cavity and single-module configurations, using the same modules in each arrangement to provide compact, lightweight connectivity.

Due to their modularity, space/weight savings and robustness, the connectors continue to attract new users in other applications, including military aircraft and land vehicles. In addition, the connectors have evolved to include composite housings, aluminum wire capability, fiber optics, higher densities, and high-speed and shunting configurations.

“As commercial aircraft and military vehicles become even more reliant on electronics, data and connectivity, customers look for lightweight, versatile and reliable solutions from an industry leader they can trust,” said Stéphane Paya, rectangular connectors product manager EMEA for Aerospace, Defense & Marine at TE. “This certification lets our customers and potential customers know right away that our products are manufactured to perform at the highest levels.”

TE’s DMC-MD single module connectors, accessories and modules were certified in accordance with EN4165-003, EN4165-024, EN4165-025, and EN4165-026.
