The transceivers are 1000BASE-SX-SFP transceiver modules used for MMF at 850nm wavelength. These hot-pluggable transceivers connect the electrical circuitry of the module with the optical or copper network.

The modules are widely used to help meet challenges encountered in a diverse network of topologies.

The transceivers can be used in conjunction with any SFP module that the HP device supports. Each transceiver module has an internal serial EEPROM that is encoded with security information.
