The addition of the Linux client offers users of Linux, UNIX®, and Mac OS® platforms an alternative to software maintenance and security requirements of Microsoft® Windows®.

In addition to this new OS support, the Catalyst FCA Series also provides Solaris® support for SPARC® systems, based on architecture developed by Sun Microsystems®. Catalyst FCA products provide full protocol analysis and test support, including Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) capabilities for all Fibre Channel link speeds. A unique speed negotiation feature, AutoSpeedTrack™, allows the user to capture any mixture of Fibre Channel speeds on a single analyzer and display these captures in a single interleaved display.
