TenAsys Corporation, a leading provider of virtualization software for embedded computing applications, announces from the Intel Developer Forum, the formation of European subsidiary, TenAsys Europe GmbH, headquartered in Munich Haar, Germany.
Over the past few years, TenAsys has solidified its role as a leading real-time OS provider for embedded PC-compatible systems that use Intel® multi-core CPUs, and while TenAsys has had an established presence in Central Europe for many years, the formation of the new business unit signifies the growing significance of the company’s European business.
“We’re experiencing a record number of design starts with INtime® for Windows®, despite the difficult economy,” said Kim Hartman, TenAsys VP of Sales and Marketing. “We’ve shipped more INtime software development kits in the past year than in any previous year of our eleven-year history.”
An increasing number of partnerships with European vendors of industrial and embedded technologies are bearing fruit in new product announcements. Most recently, several new software products were announced by Kollmorgan, ABB, Phoenix Contact and KW-Software that are based on TenAsys’ INtime for Windows real-time operating system (RTOS) technology.
“The expansion will allow us to provide local support to our customers and distributors, further enhancing our European sales operations and improving operations overall,” said Andreas Knape, TenAsys’ current European Sales and Marketing representative. “A significant part of our growth has come from Europe and we see the EU as a central part of our growth strategy into new markets.”
Kim Hartman and Chris Main will be general managers and Andreas Knape will be running the sales and marketing activities for TenAsys Europe from the already established sales office.
With the expansion, TenAsys will continue leading the real-time Windows initiative with support for all Microsoft Windows operating systems 32 and 64 bits, multi-core RTOS on as many cores as desired, and full integration with Visual Studio 2010 for world-class development and debugging. Earlier this year the company announced eVM™ for Windows, the industry’s first embedded virtualization manager that allows any real-time OS to run without modification on a Windows-based multi-core processor system.
