Parsippany, NJ, – Macrosoft has entered into an agreement with Central Vermont Public Service to provide its emergency resource management tool, Resources on Demand (RoD), to the Rutland, VT, based utility. RoD is a multi-user system that manages resource requests and allocations, tracks personnel movements, and supports lodging and logistics during restoration events.
“We are excited to add CVPS as our seventh utility client,” said Jason Singer, director of Macrosofts Utility Practice. “RoD will help CVPS speed efficiencies during restoration while creating a permanent record for post-event reporting and analysis.”
“In Vermont, we face severe weather, from spring thunderstorms to snow and ice in the winter. RoD will help us manage, track and support the logistical needs of the crews we deploy during a storm restoration,” said David DeSimone, manager of field operations at CVPS, Vermonts largest electric utility.
Intuitive and user-friendly, Macrosofts Resources on Demand provides storm center personnel with a tool to effectively organize crew and equipment allocations, monitor personnel availability, and improve the assignment process. The system leverages historical data and reports to establish best practices for use during future events.
“Storm management is a critical function, which we take extremely seriously,” said Scott Massie, manager of CVPSs Central Scheduling unit. “Resource on Demand will give us more information, at-a-glance views of resources, and insights on how best to manage our people and physical assets.”
